Thank you to all who responded to my recent, urgent newsletter
asking you to select the name for our new neuropathic pain
compound. An unnamed company had shot down my trademarks for
NEURALEVE and NEUROLEVE. Over 85% of you who responded chose
NEURELIEF over NEURELIEVE. We have a winner!!!!! NEURELIEF it
is!
The problem here is that NEURELIEF was my wife's original
choice of name many months and much legal entanglements ago. I
didn't really like that name, so I proceeded down my own
headstrong path. Well, now my shame is complete and my lovely
bride is positively glowing with "I told you so." How long
can I expect this to last?
I have received very little feedback-positive or
negative-agreeing or disagreeing with the newsletters I write.
Sometimes it seems that they just go into a dark void without
even an echo. I truly encourage you to give me feedback of any
kind, especially constructive criticism or plain negative
feedback. That'll get the juices flowing. If you tell me about
topics you would like me to discuss, I can almost guarantee I
will. I feel like the comic who says, "I know you're out
there; I can hear you breathing."
While I'm at it, many of you have submitted very short
questions in the ask Dr. Tim section. They often read something
like, "My knee hurts, what can I do?" or "I have a
headache." I need you to give me a little more info-a few
paragraphs of your pain history to generate a helpful response.
Include things such as:
How long you've hurt
What, if any, diagnoses you have been given
What treatments you have undergone for your pain condition,
especially surgeries
What meds you take
What makes the pain better
What makes the pain worse
Anything else you think would be helpful
Any specific issues you want me to address.
I will answer your questions. I want to set up a library of
available answers on my web site, listed by topic. You won't
be wasting your time.
After endorsing NEURELIEF as the name choice, a subscriber,
V.C., gave me this feedback:
"I also wanted to let you know how much I enjoy receiving your
e-mails!! The information you provide for those of us struggling
with chronic pain is invaluable. I find your words very
comforting and they give me hope and encouragement to better
manage my condition and keep searching for answers. Please keep
up the good work!!"
I promise you, V.C., I will keep working, hoping, and moving
forward. You do the same, and always remember, "Learn from
yesterday. Live for today. Love for tomorrow."
Good light,
Dr. Tim Sams
